Call for Expressions of Interest – Branch Committees
The Systems Engineering Society of Australia (SESA) is calling for expressions of interest (EOIs) for Branch Committee members across the following states:
- Queensland
- New South Wales
- Victoria
If you are from another state outside of the above three, please let us know by return email which state you are in, and if you would be interested in volunteering for a future SESA Branch – we can then review dependant on interest.
The SESA Executive Committee has developed the Branch Committee Terms of Reference for State Branches. This is with the objective to provide local, regular and accessible value to members and parties interested in systems engineering and is in response to the success of the Transportation Working Group as well as the request for cross domain branches in some states.
The objectives of the Branch Committees are:
- To provide local value to local members.
- To be accessible and approachable to local members and interested non-members.
- To provide a local focal point for networking, collaboration, creation, and dissemination of systems thinking and systems engineering practice across all domains/ sectors.
- To maintain relationships and collaborate with the local Engineers Australia Office.
- To provide feedback to the SESA Executive Committee on matters of local interest and relevance related to systems thinking and systems engineering practice.
If you are interested in joining one of these committees, please send your nomination, including the following information, via email to sesa@engineersaustralia.org.au by no later than 6.00pm AEST on Sunday, 27 August 2023.
- Your Engineers Australia ID (you will have received an EA ID when you joined SESA)
- A short form CV (two pages or less)
- A candidate statement, no longer than one page, setting out what you can contribute and why you would like to be on a SESA Branch Committee.
Any nominations received after the closing time and date will be ineligible and not considered.
Please note, successful committee members will be elected for the 2024/2025 term (1 January 2024 – 31 December 2025), however they will be invited to join the committee as soon as elected, for the remainder of this year (2023). All eligible EOIs will be reviewed by the SESA Executive Committee and successful candidates will be notified as soon as possible.
Please note, you must be a financial member of SESA to be eligible to nominate. This is a self-nomination process.
