Turning Burdens into Benefits – Managing and Reducing Technical Debt

Thursday, January 23 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Event Overview

In today’s fast-paced industries, where systems are growing increasingly complex and timelines are ever-shorter, technical debt often becomes an unavoidable challenge. But what if the burdens of technical debt could be transformed into opportunities for growth and innovation? Attendees will journey through a mock project to experience firsthand the decisions, trade-offs, and consequences that lead to technical debt. The event will simulate the realities of acceleration pressures, and attendees will gain insights into strategies for mitigating such pressures while still delivering projects on time and to a high standard.

Learning Outcomes

  • Examining Technical Debt Through Multiple Lenses: Understand how diverse stakeholder perspectives and user needs influence the creation of technical debt and learn strategies to balance these demands while minimizing long-term system impacts.
  • Addressing Acceleration Pressures: Understand the root causes of technical debt under project acceleration pressures and develop approaches to navigate these situations without compromising on quality.
  • Domain-Specific Impacts of Technical Debt: Explore how technical debt varies across industries and regulatory environments, equipping you with the knowledge to tackle challenges specific to your sector.
