SUMMARY:Turning Burdens into Benefits - Managing and Reducing Technical Debt
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview \n\nIn today’s fast-paced industries\, where systems are growing increasingly complex and timelines are ever-shorter\, technical debt often becomes an unavoidable challenge. But what if the burdens of technical debt could be transformed into opportunities for growth and innovation? Attendees will journey through a mock project to experience firsthand the decisions\, trade-offs\, and consequences that lead to technical debt. The event will simulate the realities of acceleration pressures\, and attendees will gain insights into strategies for mitigating such pressures while still delivering projects on time and to a high standard. \nLearning Outcomes \n\n\nExamining Technical Debt Through Multiple Lenses: Understand how diverse stakeholder perspectives and user needs influence the creation of technical debt and learn strategies to balance these demands while minimizing long-term system impacts.\nAddressing Acceleration Pressures: Understand the root causes of technical debt under project acceleration pressures and develop approaches to navigate these situations without compromising on quality.\nDomain-Specific Impacts of Technical Debt: Explore how technical debt varies across industries and regulatory environments\, equipping you with the knowledge to tackle challenges specific to your sector.\n\nEvent outline \n\nWebinar \n\n\n5:30 pm AEST – Webinar starts\n6:30 pm AEST – Webinar closes\n\nIn-Person \n\n\n5:00 pm AEST – Arrival of Attendees\n5.30 pm AEST – Event kick off\n6.30 pm AEST – Event closes and networking with refreshments begins\n7.30 pm AEST – Event ends\n\nPresenter \n\nHitesh Patel \n\nDirector – HKRP Australia Pty Ltd \nBiography\n\nHitesh began his career as an Electronics Design Engineer\, expanding into railway signalling\, systems engineering\, safety assurance\, Engineering and project management. He has extensive experience with System Engineering processes and RAMS and brings pragmatic solutions to engineering problems. Hitesh will be the key speaker for this event on Technical Debt. \n  \n  \n  \nCo- Presenter \n\nSimon Meiers\n\nDirector- Network Planning & Optimisation at Systra ANZ \nBiography\n\nSimon has over 30 years of experience as an Operations\, Safety and Reliability manager\, across major projects in rail\, road infrastructure & oil and gas. He leads SYSTRA ANZ’s Performance and Risk business unit and has extensive experience in the successful delivery of analysis which adds real weight to decisions on complex operational and safety issues. \nHis specialisms are network performance modelling\, RAM analysis\, Risk\, Systems & Safety Engineering\, Regulation and Level Crossing improvement and management. He has executive and strategic leadership experience in both the private and public sectors\, having reported to the Chief Executive of the NSW rail safety regulator\, as well as sitting on national policy forums and leading the ITSR (now ONRSR) Safety Improvement program for many years. \n  \nRegister through the link below: \n\nTurning Burdens into Benefits – Managing and Reducing Technical Debt
