SUMMARY:Integrating systems engineering and asset management
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nSystems Engineering is not just about initial design and development – it is a discipline that is applied throughout the product lifecycle. But the decisions made in those early phases can have enormous impact on how the product or service is used and maintained\, and its value – financial\, and utility – to its many stakeholders. This presentation will explore some of those decisions\, and how we as systems engineers can be better informed about the through life considerations of the assets we develop. \nLearning outcomes\nIn this presentation\, you will learn: \n\nImportance of systems engineering principals to the whole-of-life considerations of products and services.\nUnderstanding of asset management principals\, the decisions asset owners\, users and maintainers must make\, and the information they need to make those decisions.\nGain insight into the integrated nature of systems engineering and asset management.\n\nSpeaker\nBill Filmer (FIEAUST)\n\n\n\n\n \nWith over 40 years’ experience in the Defence environment\, Bill has a strong focus on developing efficient management systems in systems engineering and asset management\, continual system improvement and technical governance. Bill is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Societies\, Engineers Australia and Asset Management. Bill was recognised during his military career for implementing systems engineering practices into the Air Force where he was awarded Member\, Order of Australia (Military Division).
