SUMMARY:FREE - Joint Event with the IRSE - Operational Concept Development\, A Simple Case Study
DESCRIPTION:This free workshop will run through the development of an Operational Concept Development (OCD ) for a level crossing linking ISO15288 and system engineering methods. \nThis workshop will be held in the WSP office\, 900 Ann St\, Fortitude Valley\, Brisbane and will also be broadcast live as a webinar. \nAll attendees\, including those participating remotely\, will be invited to contribute to the interactive element of the workshop to identify needs and requirements. \nThe key outcomes from this workshop are to provide participants with a better understanding of the purpose of the OCD\, to work through a methodology to achieve this\, and to provide an overview of SE techniques linking to ISO15288\, MBSE tools and SySML drawings. \n  \nThe speakers: \n \nGreg Paulsen CPEng NER RPEQ \nGreg has 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector in executive\, management and design roles with Telstra and Alcatel-Lucent. Most recently he has been responsible for a number of complex system integration projects in the Electricity\, Oil & Gas\, Rail and Marine sectors. He has recently completed a Masters in Engineering Science in the field of System Engineering. He has used the techniques that we will go through today in preparing the Operational Concepts for complex rail tunnels and rail signalling systems via the use of Model Based System Engineering tools. \n \nSteven Spencer CPEng NER RPEQ \nSteven is a chartered engineer with 15 years’ experience in the Healthcare\, ITS\, Rail and defence industries working in roles across software engineering\, systems engineering\, management and coaching.  Steven has applied Model Based Systems Engineering techniques in projects for Transportation and Defence and provides coaching within his organisation on the application and use of MBSE techniques.  Having recently returned from a secondment in Paris\, in his current role he provides leadership in the ISO 9001 process\, best practices and the deployment and operations of tools used within Engineering.
