CASE Applications
As a member of SESA, there are two ways of obtaining CSEP, please note that in order to be eligible you must be a current member of SESA, INCOSE and for pathway 1, Engineers Australia.
- Pathway 1: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Engineers Australia to Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), INCOSE.
- Pathway 2: Professional Engineer* to Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), INCOSE to Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Engineers Australia.
* Professional systems engineering practitioners who have demonstrated knowledge and experience in many aspects of the discipline, see minimum requirements below.
CSEP Pathways
If you currently hold CPEng with Engineers Australia, please read the instructions under Pathway 1 below.
If you do not currently hold CPEng with Engineers Australia, please read the instructions under Pathway 2 below.
Pathway 1: CPEng to CSEP
The required 5 years of Systems Engineering experience, described at the minimum requirements section above, can be either or both of:
- experience presented in your CPEng Application, or
- experience gained post achieving chartered status.
The CSEP Pathway 1 application process also requires only one referee form to be submitted instead of the requisite 3 for standard CSEP applications.

Pathway 2: Professional Engineer to CSEP to CPEng
In order to apply for CSEP you must satisfy the minimum application requirements described in the minimum requirements section below.

Minimum Requirements for CSEP
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of Systems Engineering (SE) competency achievement. Evidence of 5 years (total) of SE experience with at least one year of SE experience in at least three (3) of the fifteen (15) SE function areas below:
