After the success of last years pilot mentoring program SESA is running the program again!
All are welcome to participate as either potential Mentor or Mentee, and as we had last year, you can nominate yourself as someone who has an interest in being either or both.
Mikaela Stewart and Chris Browne are back with our fresh volunteer Ryan Messina. Together they will organise and coordinate the mentoring program for 2021.

2020 Mentoring Program Recap
Last year, the focus of our SE community mentoring program was a 4-week networking opportunity. So much has happened over the last year in these unprecedented times and I wanted to give you an update on SESA’s activities and operations since the new SESA Executive Committee started in July 2020.
At our last General Meeting (June 2020), I outlined four broad objectives for SESA for the next two years:
Objective 1 – Increase member engagement and perception of value
Objective 2 – Better leverage SESAs relationships with EA, INCOSE and other groups to deliver value for its members
Objective 3 – Improve Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in membership and events
Objective 4 – Ensure simple, light-touch, sustainable, transparent, ethical Leadership and Governance of member funds

With current restrictions in place there are no paper exams scheduled for the first half of 2021, we will be looking to hold paper exams, current restrictions permitting, in the second half of the year.

The Climate Smart Engineering Conference 2021 will demonstrate the pivotal role of engineering in providing sustainable solutions, systems and efficiencies, which in turn provides the pathway by which business and government may avoid serious climate consequences.
SESA has been invited by Engineer Australia’s Chief Engineer, Jane MacMaster, to be a key member in the design and execution of this conference. SESA and the systems approach will be a focus area for the conference and we encourage all members to contribute.
The conference will be held from the 16 to 17 November 2021 as a hybrid event.… Read more
Great news for SESA members – ANU has released a new Graduate Certificate of Systems Engineering.
This Graduate Certificate can be completed as a standalone postgraduate qualification or used as a pathway to a Master of Engineering at ANU.
Applications close Sunday 31 January. Apply now to start studying in 2021.
