The SESA Forum mail list is an email based medium for SESA members to set up threads of discussion amongst themselves. The SESA Forum mail list is also used as a means for the National and State Chapter committee's to send out SESA related announcements.
Each registered email address on the SESA Forum Mail List system represents an individual user account. Each SESA member is set up with a mail list account that is registered using their the contact email address registered against their name in the SESA Membership Database. Upon account creation, a welcome message with login details & instructions is sent to the registered email address. It is not mandatory to have to login to use this mail list, your login just gives you access to your personal profile which allows you to modify some personal settings.
The SESA Forum Mail List is a private list - in order to exclude spammers, attempts to reply or post to the SESA Forum Mail List using a sending email address that is not registered are rejected. If you wish to be able to recieve and send mail via more than one email address, then please either raise a new subscription request as per instructions below, or contact the SESA Information Systems Officer.
Postings to this mail list should be relevant to and aligned with SESA's mission. Suitable postings include information about system engineering events, discussion of issues, requests for assistance, etc. Postings containing explicit promotional type content for professional services and products are not suitable for this forum. The inclusion of your position, company name and company contact details within your email signature is fine.
Within the first month of each new membership year (July), the SESA Forum mail list is modified to only include new and renewing SESA members. New or renewed memberships received after July of the membership year will require the member to subscribe to the SESA Forum mail list.
If you're a SESA member and don't seem to be receiving mail from the SESA Forum mail list, go to the Sesa Forum List Info page to subscribe or contact the SESA Information Systems Officer. Or, if you're a SESA member and you want to post articles from more than one email address goto the Sesa Forum List Info page and subscribe a new address.
To assist subscribers with identifying and filtering incoming email that has been sent from the SESA Forum mail list, the subject line of all postings is prefixed with "[sesaforum]"
To Subscribe to SESA Forum Mail List
Go to the SESA Forum List Info page where you will be required to register your email address, Name and a password. Please fill out the optional "Name" field as the email address may not be adequate for identifying you as a SESA member.
An email requesting confirmation of your registration will be sent back to you. Once confirmed, the request will go to the list moderator who will check your membership status before committing your email address to the subscriber list. A welcome email with your login details will then be sent back to you. Please note that it is not mandatory to have to login to use this mail list, your login just gives you access to your personal profile which allows you to modify some personal settings.
To unsubscribe from the SESA Mail List
To unsubscribe, login to your mail list account where there will be an option to unsubscribe. If you don't have the URL to your login page, you can login to your account from the SESA Forum List Info page
